If there’s one thing we know about business owners, it’s that they are incredibly busy people.
Small to medium sized businesses, which often lack a dedicated marketing department, might recognise the importance of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to optimise their website, but lack the time or knowledge to execute an SEO plan.
97% of people learn more about a local business online than anywhere else. When people search for a business (or product/service), your website is the first place they will look.
One reason small businesses struggle with SEO is because their website isn’t built with search in mind. Sure, your website might look good, but if it’s not structured correctly, you can lose out on a significant amount of search traffic. This includes cleaning up any broken links, making sure your website is mobile friendly, prioritising keywords and phrases, optimising metadata, backlinking and updating your website with fresh content.
There are also quick, easy and free ways to maximise the power of search. Make sure you claim your Google My Business page and leverage every element of the pages to your advantage including images, videos, Q&A, reviews, and posts.
Also make sure your website is indexed on Google Search Console. It’s free to do and makes sure that Google is aware of your website. It doesn’t necessarily mean you rank highly, or even on the first page of Google, but it is a good start point and does mean there’s a chance of your site popping up when people search for relevant queries.
If this all sounds alien to you, we can fully or part-manage your SEO on a monthly package to make sure your website does not fall down the rankings. Sign up for a free 30 minute consultation where we will assess your website and help create a plan to suit your business goals.
